Wishing Well and Money Tree
- By John (NNoN Staff)
The Wishing Well and Money Tree are very similar and are therefore combined into one guide. They both are opportunities to get free items. They are both involved with most newbies' get rich quick schemes. They both look like they can get you a lot of neopoints quickly. They both can't get you much more than a few neopoints. They both can take your neopoints away from you with no gain. Based on just this information, most people should be scared away from using them. But, if you wish to continue, let me go further in depth.
When you click on an item in your inventory and select donate, it sends it to the money tree. When the ghosts steal neopoints from you in a random event, they donate it to the money tree. If you go to the bottom of the page, you can donate neopoints. WARNING: when you donate neopoints, you can't get them back. The same applies to items. You can never garentee that a certain user will get the item or neopoints.
The money tree sounds good and happy, but what idiot would donate a million neopoints? Or would give away their 50 million neopoint item? All you can get from the money tree is junk.
I hope this guide helped. If you have questions, comments, or suggestions, email me at jonathanfrankle@gmail.com
The wishing well is a location in which you have an opportunity to get almost free items. You first go into the wells main page. You type in a number of neopoints that you want to donate from your own neopoints. You also type in an item that you want. You have to give a specific item name. Don't type in paint brush or dubloon. If it is expensive, you will not get it. If it is cheap (below 10,000 neopoints), you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning than you do of winning the item. There are over 100,000,000 people on neopets and I estimate that at least 5,000,000 of them go to the wishing well each day and only 20 of them win each week. Good luck winning. All neopoints that you donate go right to the money tree.

The money tree gives you a much higher possibility of getting items. When you go to the money tree in neopia central, you need to scroll down, and then you will see items and/or neopoints. If you are the first to click on it, then you get it. You will get a message saying that you got it and it takes you back to your inventory. You can click the money tree icon again and go back. Once you get a few items it gets very difficult to get another. My theory is that they prevent you from getting the items so other neopians can get junk. If you don't get it, you get a link back to the money tree along with a sad message. But how do the items get there?
