A petpetpet is a small insect-like creature that you can attach to your petpets. They were introduced on the same day as the Petpet Protection League: June 11, 2003. Apparently, some petpets were found playing with petpetpets. The first two petpetpets to be released were the Mootix and the Breebly.

Petpets can find petpetpets in their mouth through a random event and can happily bring them to their owners. Any of your petpets can catch a petpetpet. Hmm...is the word "pet" starting to sound weird to you?
The only way to get a petpetpet without buying one or getting one from a friend is by a random event. If you're desperate to get one, you can always search the shops, trades, and auctions.
Some petpetpets are so rare and expensive, they don't appear on the Shop Wizard. You can't sell items worth more than 100,000 Neopoints, so you can't find petpetpets on the Shop Wizard if they're worth more than that. You won't find petpetpets in the search bar either, because they're at least rarity 99. The search bar only searches items with a rarity of 98 and below.
Many petpetpets are worth less than 100k, so you can easily find them on the Shop Wizard. There's a wide variety of petpetpets. Some petpetpets cost 20k, and some cost millions.

Do petpetpets have names and levels like petpets?
No. Petpetpets are fleas, and are supposed to be nuisances to the petpet, so you can't give them names and levels.
They're just displayed on your pet's lookup at the bottom, where it shows your petpet.
It will just show the image of the petpetpet next to your petpet on the lookup, with the species of the petpetpet.
Some people set their petpet's name to include a name for the petpetpet. For example, someone might name their petpet "Sparky and Tiny,",
which would appear as "Sparky and Tiny, the Black Spardel and its Zytch".
Attaching a petpetpet isn't easy and is the biggest question that people have once they find a petpetpet.
First, remember that once your petpetpet is attached, YOU CANNOT GET IT BACK. If you try to detach it, it will disappear forever.
Then, make sure the pet with the petpet you want to attach the petpetpet to is your active pet, because the petpetpet will only jump onto the active petpet.
Your petpetpet must be in your inventory, and you must refresh until the petpetpet attaches. To be safe, we suggest having about 40-49 other items in your inventory (most preferred to be junk items, or free items, like dung, omelettes, etc.). That way, if you get a visit from the Pant Devil or the Grundo Leader, there's only a 1 out of 50 chance that your petpetpet will be stolen or turned to dust.
Your petpetpet can also be eaten! If you have a Skeith or a Grarrl, there is a good chance that your petpetpet will be eaten by it. If you have a Grarrl or a Skeith, consider transferring it to another account or to a friend before attempting to attach the petpetpet.
It may take a few minutes or several days before the petpetpet attaches. It's completely random. There won't be any random event or sign that your petpetpet has disappeared, so you have to keep checking Quick Ref to see if the petpetpet has turned up yet.
How do I remove my petpetpet from my petpet?
The only way to remove a petpetpet is to remove your petpet from your pet. It will disappear forever; you won't get it back in your inventory. Keep that in mind when thinking about removing your petpet.
You may wonder why the Mootix is the most expensive petpetpet. That's because it has its own avatar.
To get this, you must view Quick Ref with a Mootix attached to your petpet. Mootix may cost millions of NP and are extremely hard to acquire.
To get this, you must visit the pet lookup of any pet with a Moach attached. That's all; you don't have to spend any NP.
