Unfortunately there is a great outpouring of cookie grabbers (CGers) around Neopia. Cookie grabbers are scripts that can steal your Neopets username and password. So it's important that you keep away from cookie grabbers. The people who control the CGers will get into your account and have your account frozen. They seem to be targeting userlookups, user shops, and the Neoboards. Those three places seem to be the most dangerous at the moment, so we suggest that you keep away from them.

These CGers also seem to be targeting Premium members through the Super Shop Wizard. So if you are a Premium member, I advise extra caution. These CGers are placing codestones, Faerie bottles, and other items in their shops for extremely low prices that are actually CGers. So I advise to avoid the super/regular shop wizard and essentially anything connected to userlookups and user shops. These Cgers are also posting fake tarla links on neoboards, and other tricky links. Remember: if it's too good to be true, then it's probably not true.

So what can you do get protect your account? Well, here's a nifty list for you:

• Avoid userlookups, user shops, and Neoboards completely. This is absolutely imperative.
• To be safe, avoid other user input places including pet pages, galleries, and even guilds. I know you trust your guild friends, but if a CGer gets into their account they can plant cookie grabbers right into the guild.
• Make a list of items you have in your SDB, gallery, and write down your account information. If your account does get frozen due to a CGer, there is a chance you can recover it if you record all account information.
• Make a PIN # to protect your belongings if you haven't already. It won't protect your account from getting iced, but it will protect your items and Neopoints.
• If you have Firefox we suggest you download Noscript. It will be annoying to surf neopets, but it will protect you.
