The prolugues end and the chapters commence of the Tales of Woe. In order to continue on to this part you must've completed the last part

Head over to sophie's shack.

Sophie waves her wand at you and growls fiercely, "Get away from my shack! I don't want to talk to you!"

What a kind hearted soul. -.- Press 'Flee in terror'.

When you flee in terror you find yourself lost in the woods. Take shelter in the scary cave.

Search around the cave and you should eventually come across several items. You can only carry one item at once. You can carry the The street lamp, the rotten garbage, a chair, the mirror, and the key. You can't carry tables or the treasure chests. If you continue to search you might get this message:

You nearly run into some sort of huge, growling beast! It's too dark to see what it looks like, but it sure is terrifying!

You flee into another chamber of the cave and catch your breath.

The next step is carrying around the rotton food that you pick up from the trash. If you walk around with it you will get this message:

The mysterious, hulking creature stops and sniffs at the pile of rotten food on the floor. It picks up the food and eats it.

It seems to have an odd effect on the creature -- it's gotten all dizzy! It careens around the room.

After a moment, the creature shakes off its dizziness and flees into another part of the cave!

The next step is to find a broken mirror. Take that broken mirror and bring it into a room with a light in the middle. Put the mirror in the middle bottom where there is no light. Then, go find your pile of trash and get some rotten food. Bring the food to that room and place it in the middle of the room in the light. The above is an example of how it should look like. If you did it right you should get this message:

The creature dizzily gazes at the chipped mirror -- and it seems terrified by its reflection! Whimpering, it turns and flees.

After a moment, the creature shakes off its dizziness and flees into another part of the cave!

The next step is arranging the room as shown above. The mirror below the light, the lampost in the middle of the circle of light, the chair above, and the food somewhere in the room. If you did it right you get this message:

The creature doesn't look where it's going. It trips on the lamppost lying on the floor!

After a moment, the creature shakes off its dizziness and flees into another part of the cave!

The last, and final (yes!) step is finally getting to see that wretched thing that's been following you. Or 'poor' thing is a better term for it. Anyway, the lampost and mirror stays in the same place. You should move the chair a bit closer to the lampost, so one of the legs is in the pool of light. Then the food should be kept on the base of the lamp post (other side of the light). If you did it right you get this message:

It falls toward the ground, and whacks its head on the chair.

The creature lies in a pool of moonlight, and you get your first good look at it. It appears to be an overgrown, misshapen Gelert. He whimpers sadly, no longer seeming like a dire threat. Slowly, you begin to approach the creature, holding out your hand in a tentative gesture of friendship...
