Rules

Volcano Run II is a very straight forward game. The objective is to fly Glubgar the Scorchio out of the volcano caves in which he somehow found himself wandering around in. (o.0 Don't ask.) Use the mouse button to guide Glubgar around the obstacles and out of the volcano. You'll receive one point for every meter you fly. (1 point every half a second.) You've got three lives to spare. If you type glubgar you get an extra life. Also if you press C you slow down and if you press V you speed up. Don't get burned!

Mmm mmm! Crispy!

Obstacles

Several things in this volcano can turn you from Scorchio to just plain scorched.

Cave Walls

Touch these molten rock walls and be done for! Maneuver yourself to be as centered as possible between the upper and lower walls. This could be tough in those tight squeezes.

Boulders

The volcano is spewing hunks of heated rocks everywhere! Touch these and you're toast. Steer around the boulders, but beware. The pressurized heat makes the boulders move quite frequently! Use the brakes or speed boost if you need to time getting past these.

Fireballs
What's a volcano without burning hot balls of fire, huh? These things are quite annoying when they're thrown at you in the smaller passages of the volcano, but they're really not that different from the boulders, except they move from right to left.

Lava Spouts
Lava Spouts only start occurring if your best distance is 650 - 700. We don't have a picture of it, because we were too concerned of missing out on the avatar. XD So, sorry about that. But these Lava spouts aren't too difficult to avoid. Use the speeding up and slowing down commands in order to maneuver yourself through them.

Pick Ups

Bubble Shields

Pick up one of these handy-dandy objects and you'll find yourself in a nice and cool protective bubble that will help you survive one hit from any obstacle in the volcano. Once you hit something, this bubble will disappear. Even if you don't hit something, after a short while the bubble shield will disappear. Don't go wasting it!

Gems
For anyone who didn't fail Middle School Earth Science, *cough*, you'll know that volcanic eruptions will most often leave traces of valuable diamonds. (TNT is scientific? That's a first. o.0) Anyway, picking up these jewels in the volcano, which appear quite commonly and always in groups of three, will award you with extra points. The yellow gems are worth 10 points while the red gems are worth 20 points.

Avatar Method

There is a method to getting an avatar. First, right at the beginning of your first try, type glubgar for an extra life. After you get 450 points on gems, fireballs start coming in only threes and gems become extremely infrequent. In order to remedy this issue, on your first run through try to get as few gems as possible. If you're shooting for the avatar, on your first run-through you should get at least 1000 points. Once you get to 1000 points, the game changes. The corridors narrow, and lava spouts occur in the small spaces. A fireball might even come straight down the corridor making it impossible to avoid. Don't worry; the fact that you have simply reached 1000 points is good enough.

Congratulations if you have reached 1000 points. That is quite a feat, and it does take considerable practice. The next part is not as difficult. Your next job is to get 440 points in gems. Why only 440? Because as I said before, after 440 gems only show up very sparingly. Sometimes two sets of gems show up together. Before getting a set of gems look forward a little bit to see if there is another set of gems. If you get all 6 of these gems you get 60 more points which gives you 500 points.

Add this up and you get 1500+ points! This score gets you the avatar, and if you send it on game reset night you might even get a nifty trophy!

In order to help yourself out, try playing on a bigger screen.

Rating

I rate this game 7.5/10! It's quite a fun game for anyone, and better than its former. In everything except for Neopoints that is, as it's harder to make a lot of money off of this game that before. That's not to say that it's bad for making money though. This is a good game for any type of player!
