Game Story

Legend has it that there was an ancient Geb named Sutek. He was stronger, fitter, and cleverer than the other Gebs, and was praised by all for his courage and wisdom. When he died, they built him a tomb that was the same shape as him (known as a Gebmid). It had four triangular sides, and a square base. There are now many Gebmids around the Lost Desert, but Sutek's was the first.

To stop people getting at Sutek's riches (millions of Neopoints), his advisors placed a combination lock on the tomb. Strange symbols adorned an impassable door. For the person who could figure out the pattern to unlock the tomb, well, he would be the wealthiest person alive!

Basic Game Instructions

Basically what you're trying to do is to create as many possible combinations by swapping two adjacent tiles (of the same color/symbol) by clicking on each one in turn. Getting 3 or more in a row vertically or horizontally in the amount of time given. Your time and score increases for every combination that you make.

The Game Board

1. The Game Board -
This is your game board where most of the action takes place! =O You try to swap the tiles so they align up 3, 4, etc. in a row (horizontally or vertically). You can swap them by clicking each one in turn. Once you align them, they disappear, and the ones above the ones that just disappear take their place and new ones appear at the top!

2.Restart Button -
Press this button (at any period in the game) to restart the game (You won't gain any neopoints!) and go back to the main menu.

3.Send Score Button: Press this button (at any period in the game) to send your current score and earn the neopoints for it.

4.Hour Glass -
The hourglass tells you how much time is left in the game. Everytime you make a new combination on the game board you gain a little more time. By clicking the hourglass your time/game pauses. By clicking the hour glass again you can begin the game oncemore.

5.Music Note -
The music note turns the sound of the game on/off by you clicking it.

6. Your score -
It shows how many points you have received in the game so far. The more combinations you make, the more points you get! ^^

Different Game Modes

  • Easy
  • Hard
  • Zen Mode

Easy mode -
Easy mode is played on an 8x8 grid with only 5 kinds of symbols ( palms, suns, Blumaroos, Gebmids, and rubies). They payout is three points for three symbols in a row, six points for four symbols in a row, and 12 points for five symbols in a row.

Hard Mode: -
The size of the grid gets bigger to 10x10, and the size of the payout increases tons! Yay! Now, you get ten points for three symbols in a row, instead of only three points. Four symbols in a row is now worth 20 points instead of six points, and four symbols in a row is 40 points rather than 12 points! What a fantastic point difference, am I right? =P. But here's the tricky part. There are two more symbols. The new ones are scrabs and shrines.

Zen Mode -
The size of the grid is the same as hard mode, which is 10 by 10. The payout is MUCH smaller in comparison to hard mode, for you only get one point, no matter how many symbols you combine. The good part about Zen Mode is you have no time weighing you down! You can play Zen Mode forever! Don't count on getting on the high score list anytime soon however, it can take days for that to happen. =)

Strategy Guide: Getting the avatar
You want the avatar? Well, I have it! A whooping 2000 points, this will be tough won't it? These strategies should help you, I hope! ^^

1. Strategy #1 -
Now, you've probably been doing so far by just looking for combinations, darting your eyes across the game board. Well, that can get a bit confusing, and it can take up too much time. While using this, I was only able to get right above 1000 points. My highest scire using this method. So I tried something different.

2. Strategy #2 -
I basically choose a symbol, and started looking combinations for that symbol. When I was done finding combinations for that one symbol, I choose another symbol, and started finding combinations for that symbol. Try making a list for yourself, and hanging it up right next to you of a certain order you would like to go in. Or, you don't have to go into any particular order, you can simply randomize, which can be more interesting. With this method I reached over 2500 points.

3. Strategy #3 -
I tried another method, which wasn't as good as the second one, for this third method only got me up to a little over 1,900 points. You can use this method if the second one didn't suit you at all. Start from the bottom, and work your way up looking for symbols. Once you are done finding symbols on the bottom, go up one line, once done with that line, go up another, etc.

4. Strategy #4 -
Look at bottom four lines all across the board make all you can there then move to the sides the edge then two away from the edge top-to-bottom move to the other side repeat then go down the middle... if you clicked a pair thats making combos don't bother go on looking for another set to unlock. Thank you Muggleocity for this one!

Bonuses

Lucky Coin -
Lucky coins could be considered as a wild card. If you put a lucky coin together with two other symbols of the same suit, you will get a combination. Save them wisely, don't use them if you don't have to. Only use lucky coins if you can find no other possible combinations on the game board.

Bombs -
Bombs are a great way to gain points and time very fast. Simply create a vertical combination underneath a bomb, and when the bomb drops, everything on top of it explodes! But remember not to concentrate on creating combinations underneath the bomb, for that can take loads of time away. Every second is precious!

Hand Painted Scarabs -
This could be considered rarer than a bomb for when it reaches the bottom row it blows up and the bottom horizontal row goes along with it. But it can be quite hard to get it to the bottom, and time consuming! Don't spend your chunks of time trying to get this to the bottom! Believe me, it's not worth it!

Ankh -
The rarest symbol in the game is an ankh. Once you get it to the bottom of the screen it does the equivalent effects of both the Hand Painted Scarab and the bomb by clearing both the horizontal row and the vertical row! =O

I hope you enjoyed this guide and it was of help for you! I would also like to thank the 4th issue of the Neopets Magazine for a bit of help writing this guide up, thank you and enjoy!
