Meerca Chase II is yet another version of the popular game Snake. You play a hungry Yellow Meerca trying to get his lunch.
Your mission: HELP HIM!
Basic Rules:
The point of the game is to guide the Meerca around the screen, avoiding the walls, the red Neggs, and your own tail. Running into any of those will result in a Game Over. See any other Negg? GO GET IT!
Controls:
Can't get any simpler than this.
- Left Arrow: Turn left
- Right Arrow: Turn Right
- Up Arrow: Move Forward*
- *Applied only to secret level; explained later.
Game Modes:
There are many different modes you can play on Meerca Chase II, much unlike the first.
Classic~Difficulty: Easy; For Beginners
The original form of the game. Only the left and right arrows are used. When a lot of Red Neggs cover the screen, I suggest circling around the a bit before going in to prepare yourself. Getting the Negg is often pretty easy, but getting out of the position it puts you in can be very hard. Beginners should play this level. It's the best thing to introduce you to Meerca Chase.
Freestyle~Difficulty: Medium; For Intermediate Players
A new twist to the first version of Meerca Chase. Freestyle mode will allow you to turn every angle! What fun! If this is your first time playing Freestyle, get used to moving around a bit before getting Neggs. And be careful of your tail in this mode. When turning around, it's much easier to run into it. Try making big circles instead of sharp turns. This mode would probably be best played by intermediate players, as it's quite confusing when you first play. It
can be fairly easy to get the hand of after just a few tries though.
Maze~Difficulty: Medium; For Higher Skilled Intermediate Players
This is the same basic game play as Classic, except with a new obstacle. You'll know have annoying walls/hedges layed out on the game screen. Bump into these and it's
Game Over! Be wary of going near the walls at all. Even when it doesn't seem like you're going to hit the wall, you'll likely still see a certain two ugly words in front of your face. Also, don't try going around Red Neggs. That'll also put you in danger of walls. Go around the whole screen if you need to. This would be another intermediate level, since the walls can make this mode very, very challenging.
Gravity Mode~Difficulty: Very Hard; Highly Recommended For Advanced Players Only
Every game has a secret! Type in
Superextrahypergravitymode to unlock the secret Stop n' Go level. You'll find yourself inside a giant bowl. This level introduces the gravity pull. Your Meerca will forever be pulled toward the center hole of the screen, which, if you touch it, sucks you down for a
Game Over. Now, there is a new button you can use on your keyboard. The up key. This key moves you forward. And your Meerca will stop when you let go of it. Now, this button is more than enough to keep away from the center if you're not right beside it. And I mean
more than enough. You can still crash into the wall despite the pull, so create a balance between going up and down the screen. Trust me on this.
It makes it harder to keep stopping. Mostly because you'll usually be puled backwards into your own tail, which is never very fun.
Also, regardless of the dish that you appear to be in. You
can go outside the lines making the circle. They are only there for show.
I personally love this level. I'd recommend it to only to the more advanced players out there though. It'll be confusing to get the hang of, and very often drive you crazy, but the x18 point ratio all pays off in the end.
Ferocious Mode~Difficulty: Medium; For Intermediate Players
Didn't think there'd be
another secret level, did you? ;) Type in
Ferociousneggsareontheloose on the title screen to unlock this level. Here, well, remember those evil red Neggs from the other levels? They grew teeth! (And legs, apparently.) In other words, they move around. Don't worry, they move around at random and bounce off the walls. They don't follow you. This game is not Freestyle though there's another perk to this mode too. No tail! So there's one less thing you have to worry about! ^^ This game is not Freestyle though. You move around and turn on straight angles. I'd only recommend this game mode for the sake of fun though, not Neopoints. The x7 ratio is less than what you get on any other Hard mode. And it's the same speed.
None the less, I dub this mode as yet another intermediate level. It's generally the same as playing Classic mode, but made a
touch harder by the moving Ferocious Neggs.
Difficulties and Point Ratio:
There's a set amount of points for each different negg, but the difficulty and/or mode you play on depends how much those point are multiplied...
- Easy: Slow Speed; x3 Points
- Medium: Medium Speed; x5 Points
- Hard: Fast Speed; x8 Points
- Ferocious: Fast Speed; x7 Points
- Gravity: Fast Speed; x18 Points
- Neggs: Here's the list of all the Neggs in the game and the points you'll be awarded for them.

=1 Point

=3 Points

=4 Points

=5 Points

=10 Points

=20 Points

=50 Points

Tips:
- Always take the easiest route to the Negg you're after, even if it's the longer way. You never want to try running between two Red Neggs if you don't have to.
- Take it easy. Don't try to move around to fast. Chances are you'll start hitting the keys too fast for your own good.
- Don't try to turn around sharply. You just might run into your tail.
- Somehow, putting my full concentration into the game makes it harder. Play some music or talk to a friend.
- It may seem trivial, but don't choose a background that's harder on the eyes or makes the game screen look odd. The stranger the screen looks, the more difficult it can make playing.
- Remember, it's just a game. Don't get mad if you're having trouble. Just quit the game for a little bit and come back later. You'll probably do better after a short time.
Easter Eggs:
There's one Easter Egg in this game. Ollie, (The Phantom Orange Shirt Guy) is back! On the title screen, click on the Meerca's left eye, (on your right) to see TPOSG holding two Fish Neggs. (The luck guy.)
My Rating:
Overall, I give this game a 9/10! The 120:100 Neopoint Ratio is super, and the many modes and difficulty levels offer a great challenge for everyone! (And for those who play purely for Neopoints, you can get them quite easy! ^^) I'd highly recommend this game for a daily play!
