Welcome to Deckball. Probably the hardest game on the history of Neopia. Here you have two petpets with nothing better to do than to play with a ball on the deck of a ship. You'll play a pawkeet (on this guide we'll only analyse the game against your computer, not against a real person next to you on the same keyboard) and your opponent is a Mirgle. Hooray. You can change your character, in case you don't like pawkeets, by setting it up on the first Options of the game (click play to get to the menu).

Select the difficulty. I recommend you to play the easiest until you get good with the controls. After that feel free to play the hardest one, for more neopoints. Swabby, the easiest, will not handle you neopoints, just use it for some practice.

Choose your mode. From easiest to hardest they are:

  • First to five goals: As the name says. Practice on this mode Your final score will depend on the time you take to make the goals.
  • Survival: Basically you can't fail. As soon as your score is surpassed you'll lose. Earn neopoints for each point.
  • Timed: Score as much as you can in 3 minutes. You score 20 points per goal, but your final score will depend on the score of the Mirgle.
Try the Best Quality, since the game runs a bit slower.

Now, to the hardest part: control your pawkeet. It will not walk. It will spin. Press right and left arrow to spin in on the desired direction and then, smoothly and very GENTLY!, press the up arrow key. Train. A lot.

Finally, the powerups:

  • The anchor: Makes you slow down. Avoid it.
  • The Cream: Makes you go fast. Only get it when you're really sure that you can control the pawkeet.
  • The Blocker: Will block one of the goals, random.
  • The Mover: It will teleport your ball to the center of the deck.


Strategy

  • First to five goals: Do not allow the Mirgle to score all the five goals. Just keep attacking.
  • Survival: Defend as much as you can. Eventually the ball will hit you and will (eventually, very eventually) enter the Mirgle's goal.
  • Timed: Be fast, aim and shoot. If the Mirgle gets the ball let it score so you don't lose any time.


The Krawk Cup

This was a Staff Tournament of Deckball. It consisted on a pizza party held by the whole TNT where they played Deckball for our joy and amusement. More information here.

The winner was Mr. Roboto, after a great match against the Electric Blue Monkey. No avatars were awarded to the players that guessed right on the winners.
