Introduction

Ugga Smash is almost identical to it's predecessor, Bumper Cars. Essentially, you control a car with your arrow keys and ram into other cars in the arena, attempting to get as many points as possible before the time runs out or you lose all your health. While attempting to do this, you must be wary of several power ups. Some hold good effects that allow you to do more damage, but others make you lose the game straight away.

Controls

The controls are incredibly simple. Up is accelerate, left and right do exactly what they say on the tin and down is decelerate and reverse. There is no brake, simply don't press any buttons and you will pretty swiftly come to a stop. The only time the controls change is if you are playing a two-player game. In this case, you need to use different keyboard buttons.

Power Ups

There are many different powerups that pop up while playing Ugga Smash. Some of them are good, some are bad. Sometimes the bad ones can turn out to be blessings in disguise. And more often than not, the opposite is true. Anyway, here are the powerups that you will see while playing Ugga Smash.

As you can see, the Grarrl powerup is very dangerous. Avoid it at all costs! Even if you do manage to avoid it, the Grarrl powerup is still bad because it takes out a car that you could have otherwise smashed and got points for.

Top Tips

As always, I have included some of my top tips to get those high scores.

  1. Don't bump head on. It sounds obvious, but if you ram head on then generally, you both take one hit. On the other hand, if you ram from the side, then you can damage your opponent without taking any hits yourself
  2. Don't sit back and let the other fight it out. If you do that then you'll hardly get any points. You need to be right there in the middle of it all the time to score big points.
  3. Keep an eye on your health. If you are bumping cars and you see your health go into the red then withdraw from the main action and wait for an invincibility or heal to come along.
  4. Use powerups to your advantage. If you see a red Grarrl turn up then try and force the car that has taken the most damage towards it so you don't lose as many points.
