Day 13

Holy cow, over two weeks of waiting TNT has finally decided to release the plot! Wowzers, so now let's get started shall we?

Head over to the Perfectly flat rock quarry. Behind the quarry in the woods you see a path. Click the end of the path.

You are greeted with.. a wall. Well, wait! Don't turn back! See that little whitish outline on the lower right hand corner of the wall? Click it!

An enormous, spectral Minitheus stands watchful in this secret room, hidden deep within the city wall.
You're greeted with a picture of a minitheus with a glowing orb behind him. Click the orb behind him. Once you do it says:
"You are not worthy enough to pass!"
The Guardian, though made entirely of ethereal mist, projects a field that forces you back! You cannot approach the pedestal.

Return back to Altador. Around the four corners of altador you will notice a pool of water. Click the one on the left as indicated in the picture above.

The plant engineers greet you as you enter. "Welcome to the Altador Water Distribution Plant! We're sorry, but the plant isn't open to the public for tours. You'll have to arrange something with our Civilian Affairs Office if you'd like to see the inside of the plant." Nothing much of interest yet in the Water Distribution Plant, but we'll return back no worries. ;)

Head over to Old Follie's Farm and go inside the windmill. Time to pull the old trusty lever again! The farmer comes yelling over: Farmer Follies runs into the windmill, shouting at you. "WINDMILLS DO NOT WORK THAT WAY!" He slaps your hand away from the windmill machinery.. Returning to the farm gets you this message:
Farmer Follies waves as you approach. "Hello there! Are you from the Altadorian Water Department? The irrigation ditches near my farm have been filling up awfully quickly! If the water flow doesn't slow down, I'm going to lose my crops! FARMING DOES NOT WORK THIS WAY!"

The plant engineers rush over to you as you enter. "You've got to help us!" the Zafara says. "The plant's gone berserk, it's routing water every which way. We don't know how to fix it -- the plant was designed by a mad wizard, and he didn't write any documentation! We're doomed!"
The Shoyru shakes his head sadly. "I always knew having a mad wizard design our water distribution plant was a bad idea."
Return back to the Water Distribution plant and apparently they are in need of your help... desperately! Click the back door and go through all the rooms. I've heard through several rumors to keep the wheels facing up and just play around with the levers. If you flood altador you get this image. However if you correctly reroute the water...

The engineers cheer. "You did it! The water's been rerouted properly, and there'll be no flood."

Return to Follies farm and the farmer is quite happy with this message:

Farmer Follies cheers as you approach. "Thank you so much for saving my crops! We surely would have drowned in a flood if it hadn't been for your quick thinking!"

The spectral Minitheus steps aside, letting you pass. "You have proven yourself worthy by protecting Altador," he intones.
Head back to the Wall and repeat the steps as you did before. Click the amulet behind the minitheus. Then you get the full picture of the amulet. Click the center jewel on the amulet to get your constellation. After you do this, the minitheus disappears.

If you head over to the lenny archivist he gives you a bit of advice.

The archivist frowns as you enter. "A necklace on a pedestal? Guarded by a spectral beast of some kind? Surely these are not the tools of someone with nothing to hide. Go, find the next constellation."

Well, constellation time! Head over to the Astronomy Tower and then mount your Telescope. Go here to get star data and plug them in here to find the exact position of your constellation.

Woohoo, time to brag yay yay! *jumps with excitement* Anyway, this was the constellation of the Protector, Jerdana. View the Jerdana Statue and look up at the ceiling. You're expecting to see lights right? Well, sorry no. :( Someone turned off the lights. Hehe, I made you go the statue for no reason. :D Actually - there's something quite interesting here. If you click on Jerdana's chest the orb goes around it... This works with the other statues as well, by clicking a certain part you can put the necklace around their necks. The janitor... well, he's mad as usual. Something interesting has happened in the astronomy club however, they caught the club president!

Janitor: The janitor shouts, "HEY!! Why are the lights off?! I was having fun looking at them, all shiny and stuff... RAAARGHH!! IT REALLY MAKES ME ANGRY WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OFF!!"

Astronomy Club: The Astronomy Club is a place where Neopians can learn all about the cosmos. Stars, planets, comets, asteroids, constellations, nebulae... they're all out there waiting to be discovered.
The Astronomy Club members don't greet you at all as you enter the room, as they're hiding behind the door, waiting for the club president to return. And just as he does, they jump him, and a struggle ensues!
The Wocky, Korbat, and Buzz manage to hold the Blumaroo. He seems extremely upset. "Unhand me, you vermin!" he shouts. "You'll never get away with this! This is my club! Mine!"
The Buzz notices something, and yells. "Look! There's something sticking out of his toga!" Indeed, there seems to be a little green flap poking out the back of his toga...

Pull the flap doi!

GASP!!
The Blumaroo's face is a MASK! You pull it off to reveal that dastardly Quiggle!
The Astronomy Club members gasp in shock. "Goodness! It's Old Man Withers, from the Herbalism, Mining, Underwater Basket Weaving, Engineering, Alchemy, and Dance Clubs! He must have been trying to subvert the only other club in Altador that actually had any members!"
The Quiggle seethes at you. "And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for you darn kids!"
The Wocky harrumphs. "Well, your evil plan, whatever it is, has been foiled. Off with you! I don't ever want to see you in here again!" She shoves the Quiggle out the door and slams it behind him. "Good riddance!"
The Wocky turns back to you and nods. "Thanks for your help in getting rid of him. I can't believe what a sourpuss he turned out to be. Well, the club charter states that the club's Vice President -- that's me -- becomes President in case the President can no longer fulfill his duties. Sorry if you thought that job would go to you, but that's not how it works." She shrugs.

The archivist says, "And, at last, we come to Jerdana. The 'Protector.' Indeed!" he scoffs.
He peers out into the lobby, and then softly closes the door. "I don't know whether you've noticed this, but the lights above the statues in the Hall of Heroes are no longer lit. None of them, not even Jerdana's. From what I gather, this happened about the time that you took that necklace from its pedestal." He shakes his head. "I'm guessing that the necklace was the power source for the magic that have been providing you with the clues to this puzzle. And, apparently, magically powered the gems in the ceiling of the Hall of Heroes. That accounts for half the mysterious magic, at any rate. The other half, that which has stolen our history, remains as strong as ever."
He pauses for a moment, listening, and then continues. "I trust that you have kept this to yourself. We must uncover this riddle before Jerdana learns of our efforts. It is our only chance to reverse the effects of the spell, and return our stolen history to us."
He peeks out the door. "I should do research in the main archives. I left them unlocked once before, by accident, but this time I'll leave them open for you if you want to wander around."

Fun fun, time to read the book of ages, I love this part. :D The new pages 44 - 47 are now available to read.

Chapter 11
The Protector

Our noble lady Jerdana, who protects the city from harm, has always held a special place in our hearts. She is a benevolent sorceress who commands great respect for her deeds.

Before joining the Council of Twelve, Jerdana was a wanderer. She called no place home for very long and relied on the kindness of those she aided for food and shelter. The Aisha was searching for something, but even she was not sure what it was that she sought.

One evening, Jerdana came across a Lupe hunter sitting by a campfire. Before she could even ask, he welcomed her to sit by the fire and share his food. Jerdana smiled and accepted the kind Lupe's offer.

They sat and spoke for a time, and she listened to his dream of one day founding a glorious and noble city. They were so focused on their discussion that they were nearly caught unawares when a pack of snarling Werelupes formed a circle around them. The Lupe, spotting movement beyond the fire's glow, jumped up and drew his weapon just as one of them rushed in to attack.

Jerdana, knowing they were vastly outnumbered, threw up her arms. A shield of light instantly fell over her and the Lupe. Though the Werelupes scratched and raged at the barrier, they were unable to pass it and finally loped off into the night.

Amazed, the Lupe turned to Jerdana. "Your power astounds me!" The Aisha blushed, for she thought herself humble. "With your powers of protection, my just leadership, and the help of other strong hearts, we could make a city of legends."

Jerdana smiled. "For years I have sought my true calling, and tonight I think I have found it. I will follow you, noble Lupe, although I don't yet know your name."

"My apologies, fair lady. Please, call me Altador."

Well that's all for now folks! Hope you enjoyed day 13! :)
